Manage-to-Measures (M2M)

Manage-to-Measures (M2M) programs focus on using communication skills as the number one tool for engaging individuals and groups in causing measurable improvements in workplace productivity, quality, and efficiency/effectiveness. Participants will learn how to:

  • Draft a set of useful measures
  • Speak and listen in ways that will develop a Team Scoreboard
  • Enroll team members in “owning” the Team Scoreboard as their group’s performance display

The emphasis on communication in the M2M programs assists participants in increasing the accountability of their staff, improving group productivity, and developing more satisfying workplace relationships.

Program Background: The M2M program has been implemented in many organizations, successfully engaging personnel at all levels in the challenges of understanding and improving their cooperation between groups, teams, and departments. It uses the organization’s strategic objectives and the principles of good management communication, and can be tailored to engage managers, supervisors, and employees in improving the organization’s performance.

Indicators This Program Will Be Useful:

  • Personnel are interested in working to their higher potential and improving workplace spirit and emphasis on results
  • Organizational changes have disrupted inter-group communications, resulting in costs to organizational performance

Delivery method: In-house workshops with managers and staff.

Follow Up: Manager and staff coaching • Group sessions to refine measures and develop visual tracking displays • Cross-functional sessions to clarify measures using multiple perspectives
